This is most certainly one of the future areas where human rights activists can and should focus more energy and effort. Governments and irresponsible businesses may be able to hide behind superficial "prosperity" and economic achievement, and convince some to ignore the injustice and pain inflicted upon the weak and the poor. I doubt, however, they would have the same luck when these vivid images of toxic fumes and turbid streams of poison are displayed in front of the entire world, along with solid data, including health data capturing present and projected consequences to humanity, summarized on a map of China.
I personally would favor displaying older pictures (if they exist, say from 60 or 100 years ago, before the so-called "Chinese communists" began their infestation of our ancient land), perhaps along with older paintings, side by side with these "modern images". The unmistakable damage to China committed by this bureacracy-industrialist-military complex would become even more obvious, and condemning.
I sincerely hope that the artists, photographers and historians of the global Chinese community will join in this refreshing pursuit.
