She is not just a singer, like the one from Toronto, but a very polished "actress". She sings with her face and body also.

 

謝雪心 is clearly much more talented than 梅雪詩. I have always wondered why 任劍輝與白雪仙, who should have had lots of student candidates to pick from, selected someone as mediocre as 梅雪詩. According to mother, the reason was that 謝雪心 was somewhat rebellious and eventually left their tutelage.

Mother is probably right that she was somewhat rebellious. But I think the issue is her physical build, she is too tall to play the female role and the first line male role was taken by 龍劍笙 and she didn't want to play second fiddle. Most of the second actor in the 任白 opera plays a very minor role may be 5% or less of the whole play.
