More About Me 关于我:

We are global citizens of Chinese descent. Maybe we were born in the Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong or Macau. Perhaps our ancestors have long been naturalized in any of the Asian, Ocean, European or American states. We have probably been brought up in communities with major variations in language, belief or education systems. We may even be deeply divided because of differences in our religious practices, national or political loyalties. Nonetheless, it will not be hard for us to be identified as part of a global community of Chinese descent.

As two ordinary Chinese living overseas, we have set up this website for social networking among friends and families. We believe that globally, communities of Chinese descent can be networked as one big family through the internet. Hence, we name this website iGlobalChinese.com.

We also believe that, beyond our own friends and families, a lot more can be shared among global communities of Chinese descent. Activities, announcements, reports and opinions of general interest can be shared globally. With the features this website provides, even topics of a more regional, or private, concerns can be safely and effectively shared among specific groups championed by any organizer.

With the growth of this community, we also hope to fulfill even more of our vision and yours. As a Web 2.0 social network, the growth of iGlboalChinese.com will be guided by the genuine interests of its active participants. We pledge not to coerce or entice by annoying marketing practices.

We value opinions and participation by anyone who identifies with the global Chinese community. We also hope you will respect the integrity of this website, be considerate of the rights of others, and be circumspective about local laws and ordinances, as you participate as a member of iGlobalChinese. In that spirit, we trust all of us will participate as one family of global Chinese.

I notice that under groups, we can invite people to join our private group by inputting their email addresses, and not just from a iGlobalChinese member list. Does it mean that they can join iGlobalChinese and my group in 1 step? Or should I ask them to do it in 2 steps? I am going to invite an elderly person who is not yet a member to join my group and I certainly don't want to confuse him.

Thanks for the tips. I have replaced the earlier photos with enhanced ones of the same shots. No, I did not make it looks like I jump a foot higher. I would, if I know the trick.

I meant to post some photos for the basketball group but posted them for the site.
How do I retract them?
Can I make photos only to be seen by a group?
Thanks. Anita

How can I track the issues that I've reported? The link in your reply email sends me back to your page, and I find this is the only place that I can send you back a message, but won't it defeat the purpose of "report an issue" if I want it to be confident.

I think your idea of a group is good for bug report. That should be the same as the forum in other web sites. The group can serve as a FAQ too. However, a group may not be good for other kinds of reports.

The simplified <> standard Chinese feature only works temporarily. Can the setting be persistent across pages and sessions? The feature is not important to me, so I won't bother to click it every pages. However, if I need this feature, I think it'll be quite annoying if I can't use it in Firefox.

About the photo, I'm talking about the photo on the right side of "my page". Probably it's my security setting, I'll test it again in the office.

4
A new observation, in your reply, the sender is "Network Creators" and the subject only show the word "global" near the end because of the window size. At first I thought it is spam. Maybe you should change the subject format or sender name.

thanks
