Beijing Says Working with Google to Resolve Dispute

I bought one Google April 560 Call today just to test it out. News must have leaked out because Google stock price has been up 20+ points for the last 2 days. Someone on the chat room said that there was a 700,000 shares block traded around 3:30pm today. It must be some insider trading. A $400 Million gamble, I don't think so.

It might be good for a quick trade.

Fundamentally, I don't see any possibility of a settlement unless one side backs down.

Who would back down? Certainly it will not be the Chinese government. Will Google back track?
Too bad I sold my Google call for a reasonable gain.
Just wonder how both parties play this game.
Google is sure to pull its search engine from China.

See the Financial Times report.
Type in google.com.cn , and you are sent to google.com.hk, which says "欢迎您来到谷歌搜索在中国的新家".

This is Google's decision.
Is China going to censor google.com.hk now? Hong Kong is part of China although they might have to honor the one country two systems setup.
China will simply block google.com.hk the same way it blocks Google.com, Wikipedia.org, Twitter.com, Facebook.com and many other US web sites from being accessible from China.
Baidu price target raised to $675 by Goldman Sachs and to $690 by Kaufman Brothers.

I bought one Baidu May 580 Call.
Cramer's take on Goog and Baidu.
Another one bite the dust. Godaddy pulling out of China.
This is an interesting article

1. Whether Baidu is taking the share left by Google. Apparently not!

2. Baidu is changing its search result display to include more ads, milking its quasi-monopolistic position.

The 2 points contradict each other. I am not sure what conclusion can be drawn.
I am not sure if the auithor for that article is biased since he is the co-founder of Tudou.com.
