(星島日報報道)二○○八北京奧運會將於明晚八時在國家體育場「鳥巢」開幕。長達三個半小時的開幕式，文藝表演定調為「用世界語言講述中國故事」，「中國歌王」劉歡和英國「月光女神」布萊曼將聯手演唱奧運會主題曲。至於由誰點燃「鳥巢」內的主火炬，北京奧組委仍將之列為「最核心的機密」，據悉以李寧、許海峰及鄧亞萍呼聲最高。

I read that the list of all torch bearers is publishsed, 李宁 is certainly on the list, but his is the only name whose starting point is blank! Many people consider him the number 1 choice now.

Mother thinks that it would be China's first astronaut.

I think that it might be a "group" thing. I don't know the details, but China might want to glorify a group instead of an individual effort.

It was spectacular indeed, but I think a little too much use of the high tech and high wire acts like in the KungFu movie.
