Learning from their CCP masters, government officials of HKSAR are quickly learning to use a combination of propaganda, opinion manipulation and outright show of force for the benefit of the affluent & ruling "elite" class. Using Facebook appears to be the first of many steps to "reach out to the post-80 generation".
Post-80, post 90.... whatever. Society cannot be harmonious without justice. Justice is derived from rights, which sometimes may not be won without might....
This ploy of the HKSAR/CCP lordship might seem benign enough for now. As a lifelong student of CCP tactics, however, I am willing to forecast that this "very nice gesture" will soon be followed by timely arrests, selective prosecutions, skilful use of planted evidence, and libel, against activists
Persecution and executions, then, will be the next step. Not unlike June 4, 1989.
Shall we stand by and watch. Or shall we make noises? Decision can be tough.
Would noises be enough? Would making noises be playing into their deceptive tactics? Decision will be tougher.
When noises fail, what then should the next step be? I hope we never have to make that decision, for none of us would want to see motherland falling into a state of chaos....
... not unlike Thailand.
